about the artist

Born and raised in Florence, Alabama Pam has developed her career as an artist over many years through various changes. She began her college education by majoring
in Fashion Merchandising at the University of North Alabama, but soon changed directions and relocated to Auburn University where she earned a BFA in Graphic Design in 1983.

Thus began her career as a designer and art director at agencies in Atlanta. Here she met her husband, also an
art director, and moved to Baltimore and then Cincinnati where she continued as a freelance artist and designer.

After her son Paul was born in Cincinnati she and her family moved to Nashville. The seeds of becoming a portrait artist were first sewn here brought on by the association with friends in the artist community in Franklin where she lived outside of Nashville.

In 1994 she and her family moved back to Atlanta and settled in Douglasville. Shortly afterwards she began some of her first portrait commissions. By 1997 she was juried into the annual members show of the Portrait Society of Atlanta.

While continuing to do portrait work she exhibited and sold art through the Works of Our Hands art gallery in the Buckhead community of Atlanta. Also during this time she returned to college and completed her training for Teacher's Certification in Art Education.

Today Pam continues her path as a seasoned portrait artist while teaching part-time in Douglas County.
